Cast-metal partial dentures: clasps and attachments
A bar-type removable denture (in Ukraine called a bugel denture) is a removable denture built on a thin metal frame. It is stronger than a plastic one, doesn't press on the gums, and rests on your own teeth.

How it stays put
The denture leans on the teeth you have left. It is held either by thin metal hooks called clasps, or by small, almost invisible locks called attachments. Locks look nicer, but they are more complex and cost more.

Why crowns may be needed
To make a lock or hook hold firmly, the supporting teeth sometimes get crowns. This isn't a way to add to the bill. It makes the denture secure and protects your teeth.
Looking after it
Rinse the denture after meals and clean it every day. Brush the teeth it rests on carefully too. And see your dentist every six to twelve months to check that all is well.
What it costs
Prices for bar-type dentures and the crowns that go with them:
| Treatment | Price |
|---|---|
| Cast partial denture with clasps | 15,000 UAH |
| Cast partial denture with attachments | 18,000 UAH |
| Metal-ceramic crown for a cast partial denture | 4,800 UAH |
| Prosthodontist consultation | 200 UAH |
Prices are a guide, taken from the partner clinics' price list (prosthetics from 22 March 2026, implants from 30 March 2026), in Ukrainian hryvnia (UAH). The dentist gives the final figure after an examination.
