Implant crowns: components, fixation and pricing
A crown on an implant is a tooth set on an artificial "root". It has three parts: the implant itself, a connector called an abutment, and the crown.

Three parts
The implant is placed in the jawbone and heals into it. Then an abutment, a small connector, is attached to it, and the crown goes on that. These are separate parts, and they may be done at different times.

How the crown is held
The crown can be fixed with a screw or with adhesive. A screw is handy because the crown can be taken off easily if needed. Which is better depends on the position of the implant, and the dentist decides.
What the crown is made of
Most often metal-ceramic or zirconia. Metal-ceramic costs less, zirconia looks more natural. For front teeth, zirconia is usually recommended.
